Michael Wilkinson

Michael won the 2023 erbacce prize outright from a submission list in excess of

fourteen thousand poets world-wide.

ALL the submissions were judged blind.

Michael was born in Castleford into a family who worked in mining for three generations. He made that four generations with a stint down the mine himself, before moving on. His poetry has appeared in many magazines, including Stand Magazine; Smiths Knoll; Iota, Other Poetry; Books Ireland; Seam; Writers Inc; Tears in the Fence; The Third Alternative; among others. His first collection is the well- received Dancing Fish, Spout Publications, followed by the collaborative project, Camaraderie of Dust, a collection of poetry and images, funded by Yorkshire Arts, which culminated in a book and a touring exhibition featured on BBC TV. He won a placement on the Arts Council and BBC initiative ‘Write Out Loud’ and is a prize winner in prose and verse. Circumstances dictated a change in focus and a concentration on invention as the architect of six granted patents. Back now writing, winning the prestigious erbacce-prize for Poetry 2023.

The book which we have created for Michael is a 90 page perfect bound collection of totally original poems entitled A Net of Strange Voices and whist it is true that these indeed ARE 'strange voices' they are very haunting and very beautiful... to purchase a copy you can click on the 'Buy Now' button which will link you to PayPal (In the UK £2.00 will be added to assist with post and packing) ...and to contact the poet direct please click on the book cover which will open an email access to him direct; he's happy to chat and if you want a signed copy of the book he can probably accommodate that also.

MIchael also has his own website exploring artistic form more widely; well worth a visit; you'll find it HERE.
