Elsa Fischer

Elsa Fischer: FEET

In 2022 the erbacce-prize for poetry had more submissions world-wide than ever before, in total, over fifteen thousand poets sent us their finest poems. Over the course of four months the erbacce selection-panel checked submissions 'blind' and whittled the total down to roughly one hundred and sixty. There were poets submitting from every continent in the world and almost from every single country. For four weeks the selection panel read the long-listed poems again, debated, then pruned these down to a winner and two runners-up...  one of these runners-up was an amazing new poet Elsa Fischer, from Switzerland, and so we have produced a full-size collection of Elsa's collected poems.

Elsa Fischer comes originally from The Netherlands, she studied art history in Canada and France, lived and jobbed on four continents and currently lives in Switzerland’s capital. Elsa started writing her own poems late in life, after her retirement. Since then her work has been published in magazines, anthologies and online in the UK, Ireland and North America and here you have the opportunity to purchase her collected works.

If you click on the cover of her book below you can email Elsa and perhaps ask her to send you a signed copy; she's a very friendly poet and we are told she will be happy to do just that or even to just answer any queries and have a chat. If you wish to simply purchase this totally original and beautiful collection then hit the 'Buy Now' button to open a PayPal link.

Detail: The book is 90 pages with the full colour matt cover displayed below; price is also displayed on the cover (£9.95) and a small charge will be added to cover p/p but if you live five thousand miles away from Switzerland it might be wise to email Elsa first to check on p/p costs as obviously it is cheaper to send within the EU than to Canada or the USA.

If you are looking for poetry that is 'different' then 'FEET' is a must-read... check out the observations on the rear cover of FEET by Padraig Rooney and Fokkina McDonnell and think on this; Elsa's submission to the 2022 erbacce-prize for poetry was ONE in over FIFTEEN THOUSAND... and she is one of just three poets the erbacce selection panel, all academics and widely published poets themselves, selected to create a book for... and they selected the winners BLIND; all they had was five pages of poetry and a reference number...  there is not another poetry prize anywhere which has so many high-quality submissions to our annual prize, so quite an achievement to be one of the top three; especially when you look at the 100+ names who made the long list. If you haven't checked them out then click HERE

BUT; first buy Elsa's book; she has lived... and it shows... and if you love originality in poetry you won't regret it.
