David Dumouriez

This is the homepage of erbacce's runner-up in the 2026 erbacce-prize for poetry; from over ten thousand submissions David Layzell was selected to have his book published under a contract with us at erbacce-press. Originally from Essex, he currently resides in Istanbul, where he keeps himself busy with the noble endeavours of writing poetry and fiction and indulging the local cat population... he writes under the pen-name David Dumouriez.

David's poetry is … ahem ... 'punchy'... or as one commentator observed, his poetry is 'REFRESHINGLY anarchist! Love it!' … and for the record, so do the team at erbacce but it should come with a health warning perhaps, along the lines of: 'This poetry can seriously affect your mind in that it may possibly make you THINK.'
